Mission style furniture (also known as the Arts and Crafts) dates back to 1895, when Joseph McHugh termed it to describe his line of furniture that was rustic with straight lines. The mission design started from a chair designed for the Swedenborgian Church in San Francisco. The design of the church and the chairs were influenced by the Spanish Missions of the area, hence the term "mission furniture". As you will see, mission style furniture will help you define your character of decor as a symbol of a historical movement.

The pieces available in the Mission Bedroom collection are beautiful pieces of furniture designed as such to add nice lines and art to a person's home. And one important thing is that the furniture is still handcrafted in the Amish country of Ohio by skilled craftsmen. They use only solid woods of oak, cherry and quartersawn oak. The pieces are crafted by hand for the shape and style of the furniture, yet finished to perfection using modern staining and painting technologies to make strong and stylish furniture to last for generations.
